"Real characters and a story with meat."
Women with no sense of direction bug the h*ll out of me.
Always aloof and seemingly underfoot, they just have no
clue. The same can be said about Sophie Morton. She gets
lost doing the simplest things. I've known those people.
However, if I'd have known their sexy secret, I'd have been
inclined to stick around more *g*. The story takes place in Canada, starting off with Sophie
getting lost on her way back from work. She stops her car
and sees what seems to be a very large, attractive man
holding up a smaller Oriental woman. Brave Sophie makes an
attempt to thwart the crime in progress, only to discover
that Detective Blake Barker, the man with the gun, was
tailing a criminal suspect and she'd just botched the
biggest case the Detective had been working on for two
years. Turns out Sophie works in a bank that's connected to a
money laundering scheme run by the criminal that
Sophie 'helped' escape. It's also coincidence that
Detective Barker can't stay away from the incredibly sexy
Sophie. They even share a love of opera. Especially hot was the scene at the opera house. I won't
give details away but not only was it sexy, it was
beautifully crafted. Nancy Warren has brought two real life
characters together and given us a story with meat. Sensuality: Typical for BLAZE line; Oral, standard
monogamous sex. But don't let that fool you, the scenes
are well written *g*. Reviewed by Sascha Illyvich for Sensual Romance.

SummarySophie Morton has no sense of direction, in geography or in
life, and when shešs lost she suffers panic attacks. Lost
in a bad part of Vancouver, she pulls over to catch her
breath when she spots a lean and dangerous looking man
attacking a woman. Without thought for her own safety,
Sophie tackles the man, knocks him down and breaks his leg.
Except Blake Barker isn't a criminal, but a cop who'd been
about to arrest a member of a notorious Asian triad before
Sophie interfered and helped the woman escape.
When it turns out that the investment bank Sophie works for
is suspected of laundering the triad's drug money, and one
employee dies under suspicious circumstances, Blake is sent
in undercover to the bank: cast, crutches and all.
Sophie and Blake don't much like each other, but their
sexual attraction is too intense to resist. When it's clear
Sophie's life is in danger, she's forced to move in with
Blake for protection. Maybe he can protect her body while
he pleasures her, but who's going to protect her heart?
