REVIEW

"A mixture of hot, steamy sex with comedy!"

To director Maude Henshaw, this play is turning into a real pain in her rear. Heaven forbid everything go well. As if nothing else is wrong, Sally Pidgeon is now complaining about her authentic period costume. When the producer gets a look at the costume, he demands it be changed. He feels more of Sally's "assets" should be showing. The costume the producer puts Sally into is barely there.

To stage director Colin Fenton, Maude is everything he doesn't want in a woman. She's uptight, picky and a bit on the snooty side for him. Even so, his hormones go ballistic whenever she's around. So he takes her to the bar across the street and orders her a Long Island Ice Tea when she tells him she doesn't drink.

What happens when Maude gets plastered on the Long Island Ice Tea she downs? Will the play be a success? Will Sally's costume hold up to her "assets"?

NOW PLAYING: MIDSUMMER'S NIGHTMARE is a humorous look at the production of a local theater. We get a glimpse at everything that can go wrong and does, with this production. We also get the fun of watching sparks fly whenever Maude and Colin are anywhere in the vicinity of each other. Sahara Kelly has done a wonderful job with this story. I really loved the part when Maude tries out the contraption to allow Puck to fly across the stage. If you like hot, steamy sex with your comedy, you don't want to miss this one.

Summary

Shakespeare may have said "The Play's the Thing," but to director Maude Henshaw, the play is nothing but a major pain in the...neck. The classic production is turning into a farce and the stage manager is bothering her hormones every time he looks her way. For Colin Fenton, every opportunity to watch Maude is another knife in the crotch...she's picky, blonde, a bit on the snooty side and everything he doesn't want in a date. He's at a loss to understand why she's arousing every male instinct in his body.

But the magic of the theater may well prevail when Maude goes flying and Colin is there to catch her. These two are going to find out that it doesn't take sixteenth century couplets to bring lovers together...just a script, a faulty set of rigging - and a whole heap of sensual desire.
