SummaryMiranda Reddington is a spirited, golden-haired beauty,
promised by her parents in marriage to a man she despises.
Her fiancé is the wealthy owner of a tea plantation in
Ceylon and arranges for her to marry him there. He sends
her on his clipper ship, Gallant, entrusting her to his
captain, the handsome William Harris. However, Miranda and
William discover an attraction between them that ignites
into passion beyond their control, and before Miranda can
reach her fiancé, William initiates Miranda into a world of
love and pleasure she cannot live without.
When a terrible storm at sea prevents the Gallant from
reaching Ceylon on schedule, Miranda and William are given
more time to explore each other, and Miranda is forced to
make a choice. Will she honor a promise made to her
parents, or will she honor the fire of love that burns in
her body and soul?
