"Spectacular Paranormal Romance Collection"
MYTHE & MAGICK is a one-author anthology featuring three
feisty heroines and the men who need them. All of the
stories feature some paranormal aspect, from psychic powers
to real magick, and all three are quick, pleasure-filled
reads. The stand-out story, "Mythe: Satyr", however, may be
the first in a future series. Walker outdoes herself in
this heated, magical collection that celebrates both the
mystery of magic and the ultimate strength of woman
herself. "Avalon" Erin Sinclair is a policewoman, and a good one at that.
She's dedicated to saving lives and serving justice... and
she uses her psychic talents to help her do her job.
Usually her talents are useful, but sometimes, like when
they're foretelling her death at the hands of a murderer,
Erin could do without their help. But she's known about her
death for years, and planned for it. When the time finally
comes near, she's ready. She'll beat the monster who's
haunted her or die trying. At her side is one-time lover
Seth Porter, the man who holds Erin's heart, the man she
pushed away so that he wouldn't get hurt. Survival wasn't
something she had ever considered, but Seth is determined
to keep her very much alive. Could it be that the future
she sees is only one possible ending after all? Suspenseful is the best word to describe this contemporary
paranormal short that, at heart, is the tale of two lovers
who finally decide to take a chance. Their romance is
exquisitely intertwined with a fast-moving, pulse-pounding
search for a serial killer, yet still intense in both
erotic content and characterization. "Avalon" is a
wonderful story that starts out this anthology on a high
note. "The Empath's Lover" Jordan is engaged to the man of her dreams. Well, the man
she should be dreaming of at least. But for the moment he's
not available, and she's forced to call his twin brother
Angelo to pinch-hit -- or pinch-drive. Unfortunately for
Jurdan, sexy P.I. Angelo is the man who really lingers in
her sleeping mind, and every moment with him is sheer,
torturous temptation. But this night is different, and
tonight Jordan will learns some truths that will shake the
foundations of her life and maybe... just maybe... convince
her that safe might not be the best thing after all. Of the three stories "The Empath's Lover" may be the
most 'usual' of the bunch, though that is not at all to say
that it is cliché or boring. Walker presents the love-
struck brother and lousy fiancé angle with skill and style,
bringing forth a wonderfully emotional story of love won by
a hair that's lightly frosted with a mere touch of magic.
The characters are engrossing, the story itself quick but
fun. This story is another winner in this already-strong
anthology. "Mythe: Satyr" In a far-off world filled with creatures of fantasy and men
of great passion, a Gatekeeper is lonely. He has lost those
he once loved, and knows better than to dream of happiness
for his future. He is Satyr, a creature of earthly passion
and power, and he is alone. Into his world steps Pepper, a
human witch from a dimension far different from his, a
woman who captures his imagination and who, in turn, is
lured by his magnetism and selfless service. Can she be the
one who will end the cold barrenness of his life forever? "Mythe: Satry" is this anthology's star story. Thrilling
and fantastical, it introduces a new world that Walker has
created, a world of dashing Gatekeepers who live lonely
lives. The characterization is spectacular. Pepper is a
kick-ass witch who won't hesitate to stand beside her man
and Arys, though a little out of the ordinary as a hero, is
just as sympathetic and fun. This story is a must read for
fans of fantasy romantic erotica. Sensuality Level: This collection has been rated "E-rotic"
by the publisher.
