"well thought out plot and some of the hottest sex I've read"
TRIAL BY FIRE is the sequel to DREAM UPON WAKING. We pick
up with Noa and Riordan once again. Noa has chosen Riordan
to be her ahavatara and Riordan admitted his love for her.
The night of lovemaking has surpassed Noa's dreams. So why
does she wake up alone? And in her own room? Noa decides to
confront Riordan about this and when she leaves her room,
she runs into a friend, Caylen. Caylen can tell immediately
Noa has her high magic now. Caylen hasn't experienced the
thrall yet. Males must wait to be asked before they lose
their virginity and Caylen hasn't been asked yet. Riordan is trying to deny his feelings for Noa in the
light of day. When she confronts him, he pushes her away.
Eventually, they get things settled between them.
Meanwhile, Caylen is really hoping Gabriana will be his
ahavatara. He runs into her and they start talking. Riordan is approached by a young witch. She just happens
to be the illegitimate daughter of the head of Somnus
Keep. She first approaches him coyly and when Riordan
turns her down, the witch comes out and she promises
revenge. What way will the evil witch take her revenge on Riordan?
What about Caylen? Will Gabriana agree to be his
ahavatara? What of Noa? Will she have a future with
Riordan? I really love Megan Hart's fantasy books. I really love
readings sequels as well. We get to revisit old characters
and meet new ones. In TRIAL BY FIRE, we also have the
added bonus of a secondary romance and Caylen learning the
extent of his magic. Megan Hart is one of my favorite
authors. She writes in a wonderful style, combining a well
thought out plot and some of the hottest sex I've read and
her talent is wonderfully apparent in TRIAL BY FIRE.
