Mica, High Priest of Zylar, is quite a frustrated man lately. He wants to claim his link mate, but the little imp has been avoiding him lately. He's known that Tala was to be his link mate since she was a preteen, but he couldn't claim her until she was of age. Out of respect to her, Mica chose not to claim her when she turned twenty to give her more independence than many Zylan women get to experience. Tala, sister to Tar, ruler of Zylar, has been half in love with Mica for years. As High Priest, his psychic powers are the strongest of anyone on the planet. So if Tala was his link mate, he would have known ages ago. Since she hasn't been claimed by him, Tala wants no man to claim her. She's been avoiding face-to-face encounters with Mica, especially since she began having erotic dreams of them together. She'll go insane if she doesn't take her vows with the Selven soon!

Mica is just about to lay his claim on Tala when he gets word that his brother Raj is injured halfway across the planet and is non-responsive to healing. Only Mica is strong enough to possibly save Raj. Torn, Mica transports to Raj's side with instruction for the Selven High Priestess to stall Tala in her quest to take her vows. If Mica went ahead and claimed Tala now, he'd be no good for at least three days as they go through mating frenzy. By that time, his brother would be gone. Will Mica lose Tala while he tries to save his brother?

Eventually Mica does claim Tala as his link mate, but things are not necessarily smooth sailing from there on out. Tala is one pissed off and powerful Zylan woman and she won't make things easy for Mica. Although he loves the spunkiness she's developed, he can't help but be dismayed what his patience has wrought. Tala has become a force in her own right and will keep Mica hopping for the rest of their lives.

SELVEN REFUGE takes us back to the Zylar's Moons series. Readers will be delighted to learn that Ms. Wilde has at least two more stories planned for this unusual world. Things are definitely looking up for the women of Zylar with two strong women married to men of power. Fans of futuristic romance can indulge in a calorie-free treat for the senses.
