"He Said He Would Wait For Her"
Tessa Brandt has never been outgoing, or outrageous, or
even very opinionated. Years of dwelling with her
domineering grandmother drove all adventurous tendencies
right out of her—or so she thought. Strangely enough, she
finds herself agreeing to attend a masquerade party with
her best friend, Jessica. A party that will mark the grand
opening of an exclusive new inn on grounds where, years
before, Tessa had a very odd encounter with a decidedly
odd—and handsome—man. This story was a great read. Though short, the
characterization was very well-done. This little gem is
heavily character-based, sensual and erotic, and still
nicely plotted. The only downside is that there is not a
definite happy-ever-after to the tale—though the reader is,
nonetheless, left feeling very satisfied by Tessa's erotic
encounter. This story is a wonderful Halloween read and is
very promising for the future stories that Ms. Wilde has
indicated will be coming out in this series. Sensuality Level: This short story has been rated "Spicy"
by the publisher.

SummaryDespite her best friend's steamroller tactics and her
arguments as to why Tessa just had to attend the Halloween
Ball, it was the location of the ball which Tessa had been
unable to resist. On some strange level she identified with
the once neglected estate, the estate which featured in all
her childhood fantasies. Along with the man who had come to
her rescue when she ran away from home as child and found
herself lost on the abandoned estate. Her fantasy prince.
"When you're all grown up, little one, come back and see
me," he'd told her then put his finger to his lips and
winked. Their visit was to be a secret. Tessa never told
another living soul about the handsome man, but she had
never forgotten. And now, tonight, Tessa Brandt was a
mature woman and she was returning to Rosehaven.
