"A vampyr love story"

Brenden Wallace is your typical chain smoking, hard- drinking cop until he sees Líadán Niamh. Brenden is a four- time loser when it comes to women and he's also walking a thin line at work. He hates to admit it but he's been feeling lonely for some time and finds himself drawn to Líadán. She's running an escort service that Brenden's boss just knows is supplying more than escorts. After several days and nights on stake out, Brenden finds even his dreams are filled with Líadán. After getting the go-ahead from his boss, Brenden goes to see for himself what services are really being offered and get the proof to arrest Líadán.

Líadán isn't all that she seems. She's a vampyr and has been alive for over 400 years. Even though she's old enough to know not to believe in soul mates and love, Líadán finds herself unavoidably drawn to Brenden. Just when Brenden starts to think he might actually believe in soul mates, a body is found brutally murdered. Will Líadán and Brenden be able to overcome their differences and be able to live their lives together?

I found this to be a quick read. The scenes flowed from one to another. The characters were flawed but I still found myself liking them. All in all, this was an enjoyable vampyr sensual novel.

Note: There were a couple of scenes involving masturbation as well as the main characters were involved with multiple partners in a couple of scenes. These topics were handled well but they may offend some people.

Summary

Brendan Wallace is a vice cop on the edge. Newly divorced from his fourth wife, he drinks too much and sleeps too little.
