REVIEW

"Trouble is brewing in this quaint Southern town"

Police Officer Rebecca Taylor has returned to her hometown of Jericho, Tennessee, after many years away. After her parents moved them to Detroit when she was eleven, she missed the laid-back Southern lifestyle. So she got herself transferred to the local sheriff's office, even though she doesn't know just who is the current sheriff. Her first night back and the day before starting her new job, Rebecca heads to the local watering hole and runs into her old crush, Jackson Montgomery.

Sheriff Jackson Montgomery returned to Jericho about a year ago, right after his uncle, the sheriff, died in a mysterious hunting accident. Jackson knows it was murder and will stop at nothing to uncover the culprits. Two of his deputies know more than they're saying and Jackson doesn't feel that there are many people he can trust in his hometown. When he runs into Becca "Pixie Pest" Taylor at the local bar, he thinks that at last things are going his way. After an incredibly passionate night together, both are dismayed when they find out that Becca is the newest deputy working for Jackson. Oops!

Rebecca and Jackson are at cross-purposes. Rebecca just wants to do her job and keep things purely professional. Jackson thinks the timing of Becca moving back is a little suspicious and wants to know why the mayor is implying that Becca screwed her way into the transfer. Neither can forget the magic they made together; can a sheriff and his deputy have an affair without charges of sexual harassment being raised? Was Becca sent here to be a distraction to Jackson?

There's trouble brewing under the surface in Jericho, just waiting to explode. When it finally does, all involved will be profoundly changed. Betrayal comes from unlikely sources. Becca and Jackson must fight for survival. In the end, will they overcome the odds or be torn apart by the direction of the investigation?

MOVING VIOLATIONS is a fast-paced, edge-of-your-seat thrill ride. Although Jackson acts less than heroic a few times, he does redeem himself. It looks like there may be sequels in the works for some of the supporting characters. It would be good to learn more about this slow Southern town. Ms. Leigh and Ms. Chadwick have written a gripping romantic suspense novel.

Sensuality: Rated NC-17 by the publisher. Explicit sex, attempted rape (not by the hero); sexually explicit scenes: 11.
