"Small-town Oklahoma comes to hilarious life in this romance."
Divorced single mom Mira Millridge thinks she's happy with
things they way they are. Her 15-year-old daughter, Angel,
doesn't agree. She thinks her mom is cool, but feels that
her mom needs love in her life. To accomplish that, Angel
places a personal ad in the paper, screening the replies
herself and setting up five blind dates for Mira as a
surprise birthday present. Nick Kade is content with his life. Finally recovered from
a severe accident the year before, he isn't looking for a
long-term relationship. He's happy in his new career as a
high school math teacher and then he meets Angel
Millridge's mom. Still, Mira's a forever type of woman
while he's determined to be footloose and fancy-free. No one is more surprised than Mira when Nick announces that
he and Mira are engaged. Yes, he does save her from the
annoying man who insists he's going to marry her, but isn't
lying wrong? Unfortunately, the town gossip overhears the
comments and broadcasts them to the whole town. Before they
know it, the entire town is making wedding plans for them.
How can they tell the truth without looking bad? The sexual tension between Nick and Mira is compelling.
Small-town Oklahoma comes to hilarious life. Ms. Bardsley
has written a very funny romance, with a sweet storyline.
Not as overtly sensual as some romances, HOUSEWIFE FOR RENT
is a nice change of pace for this reviewer. Sensuality: monogamous sex; oral sex; sexually explicit
scenes: 4.
