In A SENTINEL'S SECRET: SONG OF THE BEAR III, we go back to the Dwarf Argolyn again. This time, the men he has fighting in the arena are from Clan Bear. The leader, Calibeth, and his men manage to escape. One of his men just happens to be Donovan, a bard. The bard has had a prophecy. The prophecy states a warrior queen will come and rescue Clan Bear. The men are trying to get to the Dwarven Monastery. They will be healed and made whole again there. From there, they will go to City of Port. Other members of Clan Bear have managed to escape and live there. On their way to the Monastery, they decide to spend the night in a cave. Little do they realize, the cave is the home of one of the Dark Priestesses.

Anika can't believe she was sent to this outpost. Her mother was Queen. Now she's stuck here. She'll never be able to take her proper place as Queen. She hasn't been able to shift yet either. When her slaves tell her of the men in the cave, Anika sends them on a wild goose chase. She entraps all the men in webs. She decides to take the leader as her newest pleasure slave.

When Calib wakes up, the first thing he sees is Anika. He can't believe how beautiful she is. Well, one thing leads to another and while Anika is sleeping, Calib frees his men. He tells them to flee to the Monastery and then head to City of Port. Anika finally manages to shift. But horror of horrors, she shifts into a dragon! She is an abomination to her people. Does she decide to do the honorable thing and sacrifice herself? What of Calib, what happens to him?

Meanwhile, we also have Braunnan and Cullaelon. They made it topside. The owner of a tavern, Giselle, takes them in. They are really enjoying life in the sunshine, but what of the rest of Clan Bear? Will they leave them as slaves?

With A SENTINEL'S SECRET: SONG OF THE BEAR III we are getting closer to the culmination of the series. We have more of Clan Bear and what has happened to them since their defeat. I really love the way we continue with the same characters and get to meet new ones as the story progresses. This series has a fantastic plot and I can't wait for the final one! Shelby Morgen richly endows her characters and has spun a fantastic story!
