"Hot, sexy and entertaining!"
I had high hopes for TRUTH OR DARE because the concept of
the ladies going out and finding a "Man To Do" before
settling down with a Man To Marry appealed to me in
general, and Jo Leigh's interpretation of the theme in
particular seemed perfect. I am happy to say my
expectations were met. The story goes like this-
Fashion design assistant Megan Hodges is used to working
with the beautiful people, and being dismissed by them as
insignificant. It seems that nobody cares to look past the
brace on her deformed leg to the talented woman hiding
behind it. Megan has not been in a relationship since her
fiance dumped her after the accident that crippled her, and
she has no hopes that any man will fail to be repulsed by
her handicap. The thought is depressing. But then members
of her online readers' group come up with the Men To Do
idea. Why not pick a guy (or guys) you can lust after, one
who is not marriage material, and just go for it. Have hot,
no strings attached sex and then be on your way!
Megan decides to run with the idea, and take the
opportunity to feel "normal" for a few days by going on a
skiing vacation, with her leg in a cast, posing as a snow
bunny who tangled with the wrong tree. She hits pay dirt in
her Man To Do hunt when a gorgeous hunk introduces himself
to her at the Lodge and invites her to dinner. Stockbroker and former Olympic hopeful Luke Webster has a
life master plan. Relationships with the opposite sex don't
fit into that plan until after forty, and in the meantime
he is having a great time indulging in one night stands
with beautiful women who know the rules. Although there are
many beautiful women giving him come hither looks in the
Lodge, he finds himself drawn to the pretty one with the
cast on her leg. The cast might be a bit of a problem, but
he can adjust, and during dinner he begins to think Megan
will be a good start to his fun filled days and nights of
wine, women, and skiing- especially when she begins a game
of Truth or Dare that could have him winning in the bedroom. Megan and Luke seem to be the perfect match for a one night
stand.
He is a jock through and through, spending every available
minute on the slopes, and any free time left over in bed
with a series of women- certainly not Man to Marry
materiel, and she knows the score and is more than willing
to play the game. But then something strange happens to
Luke. He wants to spend more than one night with this
woman, maybe even the rest of his nights with her! But
Megan is afraid that all that will change when he learns
the truth about her. Does she dare tell him? This is one hot, sexy, entertaining read that left me
longing for more. I could totally empathize with Megan's
reasons for hiding the truth from Luke, although I admit I
was chanting "Tell Him!" several pages before the truth was
revealed. Luke's transformation from carefree playboy to
Man To Marry materiel was believable and pleasurable. With
TRUTH OR DARE, Jo Leigh delivered just what I am looking
for when I open a Blaze.
