"a paranormal romance with a thriller aspect"
Alexandra met Ross Havenwood when he traveled to America to
visit her father. Years later, when her father dies and
leaves her as Ross' ward until she reaches of age,
Alexandra struggles with her childhood infatuation with the
young man Ross was and her budding love for the man Ross
has become. Ross knew Alexandra would grow to be a striking young
woman, he just had no idea she would become someone he
could easily love. Despite the ten years difference, both
feel an instant connection to the other, although they do
their best to pretend it doesn't exist. When a serial killer begins mutilating women on the East
End of London, Alexandra knows she must act in some way to
stop him, that it is the only way her dreams of the
murdered women will end. Ross tries to stop her from
getting involved, for he knows very well what the killer is
capable of, for his dreams are filled with the killer as
hers are with the victims. Throughout it all, Ross and Alexandra grow closer together
and find that both life and love are very unpredictable and
should be cherished. MIDNIGHT ROSE is a gripping, emotional, passionate and well-
plotted novel. The characters have minds of their own, and
are each determined to come alive for the reader. Their
interactions with secondary characters only serve to make
them more real. Also worthy of mention is the research into the times and
back-plot of the novel. While reading, I did a spot of
quick looking up of facts, and Denise Agnew was right on
point with her facts, even as she used artistic license to
give the tale a complete ending. While this novel wasn't as sex-filled as other romance
tales, the intensity of the emotions of the characters and
the tension between them more than makes up for it. Rated: Soft R.
