Win and Diana are lifebonded now, and trying to grow their own separate ways in the world of the Balance. Win is reaching toward Guardian status, and Diana is still trying to carve her niche as an Adept in a culture where everyone worships a deity she simply cannot bring herself to trust.

It begins with a kidnapping. Though the kidnapped woman was once a bitter rival for Win's affections, Diana finds herself the force pushing the search forward. Meanwhile, Win and Diana are sent to the Ocean Magick Stronghold -- a Balance resort -- in order to take over control from a magick-less Guardian. While Win tries to adjust to his new responsibilities, Diana finds herself confronting her fears about the Balance -- and the Goddess herself!

MORE THAN MAGICK is the sequel to Taffs' successful MAGICK. In it we return to the Balance, and the characters of Win and Diana. Though it is a suspenseful and entertaining, read, the novel reads mostly as an inspirational tale. Morality, faith, and belief are the issues that Diana wrestles with, and of course her relationship with Win. Taffs provides a nice examination of the cultural differences of the Balance and the outer world, but most of the book centers around Diana's internal conflicts. MORE THAN MAGICK is a thoughtful contemporary-fantasy novel that not only entertains, but is also unexpectedly inspirational.

Summary
