Liana has long been claimed by the evil, twisted Nordain sorcerer Zanden, forbidden the touch of any other man until he comes to take her. Forbidden to Aric, also of the Nordain, who comes to keep her from Zanden's clutches and prevent their mating which, according to an ancient prophecy, spells the destruction of the land. Their lust for each other is strong, but they must resist. They fight their growing love even as the sorcerer and his winged fiends hunt them from Fiorn to the land of the Seraphine Elves and beyond.

FORBIDDEN, the first adventure of the SERAPHINE CHRONICLES, is magical, light, and relentlessly erotic. Amazingly enough, given the darkness of the plot and the sorcerer's intentions, the ethereal quality of the elves and the Nordains (Sky People) seems to imbue the story with buoyant sensuality. The characters are well-detailed and McCray has created a variety of interesting races to people her world. (Someone find me a Seraphine elf, please...) The sex is nearly continuous, and is very explicit. Happily, McCray has two other novels planned to finish THE SERAPHINE CHRONICLES, the heroines (and heroes) of which are introduced somewhat in FORBIDDEN.

Sensuality Level: Rated NC-17 by the publisher. The book is very explicit, and very sexual in nature. There are instances of female homosexual behavior.

Aric L'tiercel, King of the Nordain, is sworn to prevent Liana from mating with the Sorcerer and fulfilling a dread prophecy.
