Ten years ago, a Gypsy cursed the sons of three who wrongly
accused her boy, Carlo, of murder. Now they must find the
real killer before death revisits the bayou. And only true
love will break the evil spell they are under....
The book opens with a gypsy curse put on the three heroes
of the
three inter-connected stories. An old gypsy woman's son,
Carlo, was
convicted of murder ten years ago, and she curses the sons
of the detective
who investigated the case, the district attorney and the
chief witness. Now
it's ten years later and Carlo has exhausted his appeals
and will be
executed soon.
In the first story, by Rebecca York, Wyatt Baudreaux, the
detective's son has been cursed with
blindness. (Right, a blind hero!) He's also a former
police detective and
keeps himself active by
working on old cases. When his father sends him back to
the gypsy carnival
to make sure nobody causes any trouble, he meets up with
Alessandra, the
woman he loved and lost because she's Carlo's cousin and
hates his guts for
being the son of the man who helped convict Carlo.
After someone tries kill Wyatt and Alessandra in
a fire, Wyatt vows to help reopen the case. As they work
together, they
rediscover their love for each other. As you may have
guessed, each hero
and heroine find true love as they work on this old murder
case, and true
love removes the curse that has made the heros' lives a
living hell.
We loved working with the gypsy carnival setting--and loved
the strong paranormal element running through each story.
There are two
gypsy heroines and one gypsy hero and each has special
powers that they use
to help solve the old murder. My heroine is a fortune
teller, but she can
never see her own future.
