"Whether a relationship is arranged or free choice, it can bear the fruit of love."
Thomas was named the best warrior of Alanadon. Which is
why, when told by his elder sister Carolyn that she has
betrothed him to Lady Evelyn of Silavale, he is not exactly
pleased. At nineteen, he had no plans to marry, even
temporarily. Kidnapped on the journey to meet Lady Evelyn,
Thomas is rescued by the Lupa. Lupa is a woman, one Thomas
finds himself drawn to. When he finds out who Lupa really
is, thing start to look up for him. One of his sisters accompanying Thomas to Silavale is
Emma. Because she has chosen to practice midwifery, Evelyn
requests her return before Thomas's and her baby is born.
That is how it comes about that Emma is there when Evelyn
is kidnapped. Thomas, Emma, and Martin, an experienced
warrior and Evelyn's close friend and right hand man, set
out to rescue Evelyn. Along the way, Emma discovers things
about herself she never knew; Thomas becomes the man he
was meant to be; and Martin realizes a goal he has long
striven for. Though the story starts out with Evelyn and Thomas, the
true romance and most of the action involves Emma and
Martin. Actually, Thomas and Evelyn become more secondary
characters. I liked both men. They were heroes in every
sense of the word. The heroines were great. I liked their
strength and the fact that they did what they had to with
no regrets. The body count was a bit higher than I like in
my stories, but it wasn't exceptionally bloody, which
helped. The violent part of the story was not the main
attraction. I liked that there was a large portion of
story told after the villain was vanquished. Truly, this
tale is a wonderful escape from reality. Sensuality - R: Fairly descriptive sex. Sexually explicit
scenes: 4.

many mythic tales were told.
Of a brother and sister who found their own loves,
