"An agent on the run"
Jared Romaine has been on the run for three years. His
whole life had been planned out. He had been a FBI agent
and had just become engaged to Peyton Douglas. He and his
partner had been investigating corruption when his life
fell apart. They must have been getting too close since
two people were murdered and Jared was framed for these
murders. Thinking he could get to Peyton to warn her and
tell her he had been framed, Jared wasn't expecting to be
betrayed. Peyton had been shown the evidence against him
and couldn't believe that the man that she loved could
commit these murders, but the evidence didn't lie. Going to her car after a hard day at work, Peyton noticed
that something seemed wrong, but thinks it was just her
imagination. Once in her car she finds Jared hiding in the
back waiting for her. He had just come back into town after
getting back in touch with his ex-partner. Someone was
trying to frame Peyton and her life was now in danger. The
only way he could keep he safe was to convince her that he
had nothing to do with the murders three years ago and that
she should trust him. The story about the conspiracy was a great backdrop
for this romance novel. These characters were interesting
to read about and I enjoyed reading this novel.
